Marc Silverman
Dr. Silverman has consulted to businesses from startup to multi-nationals, from first through fifth generations.
He specializes in working with complex systems and in integrating the needs of different stakeholders into functioning governance structures.
Most of his clients have over 4000 employees. A frequent seminar leader, he has conducted over 80 Leadership and Organization Development workshops and seminars in over 14 countries. He has published over thirty articles on Succession Planning and Management in Family Business. Besides his work with Florida International University’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business, he is a columnist for “Dinero” magazine and as a Business Consultant to national and multi-national businesses. He works primarily with issues of succession, developing corporate governance structures, conflict resolution processes and wealth preservation. Dr. Silverman is considered a pioneer in the field of Family Business particularly in Latin America and has been granted Fellow status by the Family Firm Institute. He has worked with dozens of families in various countries including several well-known family dynasties.
Dr. Silverman received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration, his master’s degree in Family Systems and his Ph.D. in Organization Development specializing in Family Business from American Commonwealth University. He brings over 20 years of experience in (Family) Business Consultation specializing in areas of Conflict Resolution, Succession Planning, and Corporate and Family Governance and Leadership.
His work includes the development of Business Assessment Tools, effective Boards of Directors, Family Councils and Family Protocols. He has served on the Board of Advisors to Association of Organization Development of Latin America and as President of the International Organization Development Association for nine years. He is based in Florida, USA.
